Fired up with the insanity I encountered daily in my role as a publicist, I began performing stand-up comedy in 2002 at legendary comedy clubs Stand-Up New York, Comic Strip Live! , Gotham Comedy Club, and The New York Comedy Club. In 2003, I decided my voice needed a bigger stage with slightly more time, so I compiled my material into a one-woman show about the world of publicity. I was breaking new ground, both personally and professionally; no real experience, just confidence. I called the show Like a Publicist, a tribute to my idol Madonna and her Like a Virgin album. "I made it through the wilderness" and have been writing and performing ever since.

What some have said about Like a Publicist:
"Former flack Meredith Myers is at her best when ranting methodically and reading directly from the script (so as to avoid the legal wrath of a particularly vindictive former boss) in her one-woman show that strives to-hold on tight-give publicists a voice. "Sometimes the real talent is what you don't see!" she crows. Myers is cute and campy, but she still means business. I received an e-mail and phone call the morning after viewing the show. She's doing her own PR."
-- Jennifer Snow, The Village Voice
"We have had our tiffs with publicists, but we admire the spunk of anyone who tackles a new career, and when we heard that the former flack Meredith Myers was doing a one-woman show about the anguish of being a publicist, we knew we had to see it."
-- Joyce Wadler, The New York Times
